Joanne Catherine Waslawski, 87 of Traverse City, passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at Bay Ridge Assisted Living.

Joanne was born on August 29, 1925 in Traverse City, to the late Leo and Maribelle (Sieber) Winowiski. She married Joseph J. Waslawski on November 29, 1948 in Traverse City at the St. Francis Catholic Church.

Joanne was an active member at the St. Francis Catholic Church and also in the Eagles Auxiliary. She retired from Burke Lures in 1990 and enjoyed volunteering for the needy.

Surviving Joanne is her twin sister Jeannette Herzina and niece Patty (Lauren) Chapple and many other loving family members and friends.

Joanne is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph, older sister Pug Renwick, and her brother-in-laws Dick Olman and Mike Herznia.

Visitation for Joanne will take place on Friday, December 21, from 5-7pm with a Rosary held at 6:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 11am at St. Francis Catholic Church. Fr. Kenneth Stachnik will preside. Burial will take place at the Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be directed to the St. Francis Catholic Church or Hospice of Michigan.
