Jodi Kay Martinek, 53 of Williamsburg passed away Friday, September 21, 2012 at Munson Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Jodi was born on March 5, 1959 in Detroit, MI to David and Kay (Armstrong) Carruthers.
Volunteering was very important to Jodi, whether it be for Habit for Humanity, the Elk Rapids School System, or most recently the Wounded Hero's. Jodi also enjoyed shopping with friends, spending time with her Pomerian's, and going to the cottage on Spider Lake. Jodi's daughters Kaylee and Korin were incredibly important to her and she loved them dearly. Her energetic love for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Surviving Jodi are her children, Kaylee and Korin Martinek, her mother Kay (step-dad Harry) Brunson, brother Jeff (Jill) Carruthers, nephew DJ, special close family friend Patrick Lavis II., and many other loving family members and friends.
Jodi is preceded in death by her dad David.
A memorial service will be held for Jodi at 11am on Friday, September 28, 2012 at St Paul's Episcopal Church in Elk Rapids. Memorial contributions may be directed to a college fund for Kaylee and Korin in c/o Jeff Carruthers, 12 Quail Ridge Court, Medford New Jersey, 08055.
