TRAVERSE CITY - John Wesley Adle, 78, of Traverse City, MI, formerly of Frankenmuth, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 16, 2020.
John was born September 25, 1941, in Flint, the son of Charles and Alice (Carroll) Adle. He graduated from Mt. Morris High School in 1959 and married Sally (Evans) on June 8, 1963, together they moved to Frankenmuth and raised 3 children.
John was a Master Electrician, he worked in the Flint area for 17 years and then ran Adle Electric in Frankenmuth for 20 years before moving to Traverse City and continuing the business there with his son until his retirement. Some of John's favorite activities were spent with family playing ball in the yard, swimming in the pool, golfing, and especially up north at the lake fishing and skiing.
He also enjoyed a life-long hobby of collecting coins. During his retirement years, camaraderie with friends at the local coin shop was especially important to him.
He is survived by his children Robert (Heather) of Traverse City and children Rhys and Erynn; Janet (Dan) Jacoby of Saginaw and children Rick Green, Jenna, and Julie; Scott (Noreen) of Saline and children Ellen, Matthew, and Kathleen; also, sisters Betty (Gary) Robertson of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Barbara Adle of Atlanta, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife Sally, parents Charles and Alice, and sister Mary Bass.
A funeral service for John will take place at 11:00 am on Monday, January 20, 2020 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home where visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. John will be laid to rest next to his wife Sally in Yuba Cemetery in the Spring of 2020.
