John Leonard Battle, 56, of Traverse City passed away with his family by his side on July 4, 2024 at Munson Medical Center.

John was born on July 30, 1967 to Leonard Carroll and Marjory Estelle (Holland) Battle in Midland.

He attended Dow High School in Midland and then graduated from Orchard Lake St. Mary High School in 1985. He then went on to earn his Bachelor's degree from MSU in 1989.

John was a produce broker for 31 years.

He will be remembered for his kind and generous heart. A friend to many, John's charisma and joyful sense of humor warmed every room he walked into. Over the course of his life, his travels and adventurous spirit took him all over the world. However, his favorite place on earth was spaghetti night at home with his children.

John is survived by his five children Madeleine (Paul Davidson), Lukas, Isaac, Ava and Maximilian; their mother Joyce; and his siblings David Battle, Tracy (Dale) Wisniewski, Patricia (John) Lanctot and Mary (Matt) Battle-Stump; sister-in-law Karen Battle and many friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Tom.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 11:00 am with visitation beginning one hour prior at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Old Mission Peninsula. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in his honor may be directed to the American Red Cross. He was a proud blood and bone marrow donor.
