John "Jack" David Carlisle, 86, of Traverse City, passed away July 8, 2021.

Jack was born on May 18, 1935 to the late John and Dorothy (Hammer) Carlisle. He was one of three children. Preceding him in death in addition to his parents are also his two sisters; Lorraine "Vonnie" (Ivan) Fasel and Carol Carlisle as well as his nephew-in-law Dan Forton and great niece Tracy Cook.

Jack lived in the area all his life, working for a distributor of Blatz Beer and then the Schafers Bread Co. He was a member of the Eagles and AML. He would often travel with the Senior Center and enjoyed concerts, music performances, casinos, golf and sports.

Jack would never miss a family function, often being the first person to arrive. He loved his family and doted on each one of them. He would always truly make you believe that you were the most important.

He was a huge Tiger's fan treating himself to at least one game a year and would devotedly watch them on TV as well as tuning into the Pistons for some good hoop.

Jack is survived by his special nieces and nephew; Vicki (Jeff) Walters, Pam Forton, Joanne (Barry) Couturier, Michelle (Chas) Edwards and Greg Fasel. He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews and one great great great niece.

A time of gathering to honor Jack will take place on Friday July 23, 2021 at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home from 1:00pm-2:30pm with a time of reflection at 2:30pm. Jack's final resting place will be at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing an expression of sympathy may consider the Alzheimer's Association in Jack's honor.
