TRAVERSE CITY - John F."Jack" Henige, 86, passed away on Sept. 19, 2013. Jack was born December 9, 1926 in Saginaw, MI. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Dearborn and then served in the Navy Air Corps. Jack earned a degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Detroit and was employed by Detroit Edison until his retirement in 1988. He married Odette Peloso in 1953 and together they raised five children. He was preceded in death by Odette and their daughter, Kathleen. In 2005, Jack married Mary Lou (Esper) Besneatte. They enjoyed many happy years together at Duck Lake. Jack's sense of humor and optimism were an inspiration to all. Jack is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lou and his children Mary M. Adel, Suzanne (Mark) Smith, Stephen M. (Mary) Henige, Theresa D. Oland, his sister, Margaret Ann Henige, I.H.M., many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and former son-in-law Rick (Marci) Mares. Jack was a loving husband, a caring father and a "bonus" dad to Mary Lou's nine children. He will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved him.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 23rd, 2013 at St. Patrick Catholic Church 630 W Silver Lake Rd, with a visitation held one hour prior at 10:00 a.m.
