John Sykes Margerison, 78, of Traverse City passed away April 24, 2020.

John was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Albert Earl and Margaret (Sykes) Margerison. He married Carol Ann Butka on June 7, 1975 in Troy, WI. Together they lovingly raised two awesome children; Drew and Susan.

Honorably John served our Country in the United States Army.

John worked for Munson Medical Center and for IBM in Information Systems.

John was an avid runner, loved reading but most of all loved being with his family.

Fondly, John will be remembered as a loving husband, great dad and a super special grandpa known by many names: Poppy, Grandpa M and Grandpa Blah Blah.

Surviving John is his wife Carol of 44 devoted years; children, Drew (Stephanie) Margerison and Susan (Margerison) Moore; grandchildren; Chase (Fiancé Stacy), Kylie, Coben, Avery, Soren, Khloe, great-grand daughter Emmaline, brother Dick and many nieces and nephews.

John is preceded in death by his parents, son Johnny, brother Earl, sister-in-law Pauline and great niece Jodi.
