John Robert Miller, 70, of Traverse City passed away Friday, February 5, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.

John was born on February 10, 1945 to the late Gerald and Donna (Berry) Miller in Cadillac, Mi. He married Linda M. DeJong on August 21, 1976 in Traverse City, Mi. Together they lovingly raised four wonderful children.

John went to St. Francis Catholic Schools, Traverse City Public schools and eventually graduated from Suttons Bay Public Schools in 1963. He enjoyed sports, especially refereeing basketball games and fishing. John was a member of the Bayview Wesleyan Church. He worked for Computer land from 1986-1994. In 2002 he worked in Portland and then to Phoenix and in 2006 moved back to work at Cherry Capital Airport to work for TSA. Most importantly John was a family man. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Surviving John is his wife Linda of almost 40 years; children, Talmage (Faye) Miller, Troy (Susan) Miller, Tammy (Jeff) Lewis, Brent Brakel; sisters, Anita Ghastin and Elizabeth Kauffman, 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.

John is preceded in death by his parents, sister Sherry Monroe, and brother in-law Burl Ghastin.

Funeral services will be held for John on Wednesday February 17, 2016 at 1pm with a visitation beginning at noon at The Bayview Wesleyan Church in Traverse City.
