TRAVERSE CITY — Jack Sika, 68, of Traverse City, passed away unexpectedly at his home on May 4, 2011. Jack was born on July 14, 1942, in Chicago, Ill., to John and Zdenka (Novak) Sika. On April 25, 1992, Jack married his best friend and dance partner, Georgette. Together they shared 19 wonderful years after they met on the dance floor at the Fire Place Inn. By trade Jack was a welder, a career he loved and was very passionate about. In his spare time he enjoyed going to the casino. He was a very lucky man and even won a car from the old casino. Jack also enjoyed playing golf with his friends. Jack is survived by his wife, Georgette; children, Bob (Jo) Sika and Carrie (Brian) Leffel; three grandsons, Brian, Jamie and Corwin; sister, Rose Marie (John) Brayton; mother, Zdenka Novak; and many other loving family members and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his father, John. Visitation for friends and family will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2011, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
