John Swanson, 54, of Honor Michigan passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at his home. John Swanson was born on September 25, 1958 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan to Warren A. and Evelyn (Supe) Swanson.
He attended the University of Michigan after high school. John proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force.

John is survived by his Mother, Evelyn Swanson; a son, Ali-John Swanson, a daughter, Donya Swanson and a brother, Robert (Linda) Swanson. Also surviving are a niece and two nephews; Amanda, Mathew and Eric.

John was preceded in death by his father, Warren A. Swanson.

A Memorial Service honoring John will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Rev. Justin Grimm will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with John's family on Sunday for one hour prior to the service.

In accordance with John's wishes, he graciously donated his body to the advancement of higher learning and education at the University of Michigan.
