John Douglass Tobin, 81, of Traverse City passed away peacefully on December 3, 2023.
John was born on March 27, 1942, in Grand Rapids to the late Everett D. and Marguerite K. Tobin. He is survived by his wife (of 57 years) Joy, their daughter Christy and son Douglass, four grandchildren and other family members. He was preceded in death by his sister Marilyn Cavanaugh; niece Susan Suwyn and sister-in-law Sue Laux.
John was a graduate of the University of Michigan. Over the last 50 years, he was an active member of the Traverse City community, through his CPA practice, support of and participation in many Church and community organizations and activities, and enjoyment of the recreational opportunities in the area.
In accordance with John's wishes, he will be laid to rest in the First Congregational Church Garden of Remembrance. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
