John D. Youker

John David Youker, 66, of Buckley, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022. John was called home by his loving Father while in Canada on a fishing trip with two great friends after a year and a half battle with cancer. John was born on July 12, 1956 in Buckley, the son of David and Evelyn Youker (Henigan).
John loved God and spending time with his family. He spent his life in Buckley where he built and maintained connections and cared deeply for his family and friends. John successfully owned and ran Youker Construction and he also drove a school bus before his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed sports, card games with family, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Jennifer Youker (Shuert): son Jacob Youker (fiancé Alysia Folkersma), daughter Amanda (Cole) Blades, brothers Gary (Dianne) Youker, Allen Youker, Denny (Dawn) Youker, sisters Jill (Mike) Lovano, and Jan (Donald) Crossman, as well as numerous nephews and nieces. John was joined in Heaven by his sister in law, Patricia (Allen) Youker who passed away on July 29, 2022. John is preceded in death by his father, David Youker, mother, Evelyn Youker, and nephew Justin Bailey.
The family would like to thank everyone that visited and supported John throughout his journey.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, from 5-7pm at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home (305 Sixth St Traverse City, MI 49684). Funeral service will be held on Wednesday August 3, 2022, at 11:00am at the Buckley Tabernacle Church with visitation from 10-11am (213 W. Wexford Ave. Buckley, MI 49620).
