Jon Charles Cronk, 50, entered into eternal rest with his Heavenly Father after a long and couragious struggle with cancer which destroyed his earthly dwelling but could not damage his eternal spirit.
Jon was born on Friday, August 13, 1965 to the late Jonathan "Jack" Arnold Cronk and Patricia Pauline (DeLorme) Cronk in Detroit. He attended Precious Blood Catholic School until the family moved to Traverse City. He graduated from Traverse City Central in 1983.
Jon touched so many lives with his heart felt smile and tender soul that you could not help but be drawn to his warm personality. His empathy and respect for others reached out to you with such sincerity that you were compelled to establish and welcome an everlasting friendship. Jon was one that never complained, never stopped fighting for life, never stopped caring or thanking the people that surrounded him with love and support. He never spoke an unkind word about anyone. He always kept his word and he kept his friends conversations to himself with trust and faithfulness.
Jon taught himself at an early age to drum. His enthusiasm never waivered when it came to drumming with his bands, Bridget Bishop and Mrs. White and The Candlestick, as well as the praise band at New Hope Community Church. He lit up a room with his high intensity enthusiasm that kept you in the moment listening and watching while he entertained you throughout the night. He was a good person inside and out and those that knew him felt him in their hearts as a good man. He truly was a precious soul, a rockin drummer, a loyal friend, a true fighter for the love of life and a wonderful human being for all who knew him. He was blessed with a gifted heart that appeared on the back of his head after his hair started growing back from chemotherapy. He definitely had two hearts, both warm and true to his inner soul as a person. The bottom line is he loved people and people loved him for his real down to earth nature and his wonderful, sincere and charismatic appeal.
Jon enjoyed attending concerts, playing golf, was a huge NASCAR fan as well as an avid Red Wings and Detroit Tigers fan. He enjoyed watching the O'Reilly Factor and NCIS. Jon will be truly missed by his family and friends.
Jon is survived by his brother Jeff of Traverse City, his sister Rachel of Detroit; his nephew Noah Jonathan, whom he loved dearly and loved spending time with; his special friend Cathy of Traverse City; his aunt Anita Upson of Detroit his cousins Chad DeLorme of Karlin, Nate Randall of Interlochen, Jason and Ryan True of Detroit, his best friend Kevin Blaser of Traverse City and many friends.
