TRAVERSE CITY — Jon David "Dave" Forton, 58, of Lake Ann, passed away at Munson Medical Center, into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born in Traverse City on March 7, 1953. Dave loved to work on all things mechanical and ran a small business, "Dave's Imparts".He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and loved to help people.He is survived by his wife and best friend of 33 years, Sandy; sons, Earl P. (Terrilee) Forton and their daughter, Nora; Gordon L. Forton and his daughter, Selene; mother, Marcella Florence Forton; and brothers, Richard Scott Forton and Dan Dill (Pam) Forton.Dave was preceded in death by his father, Richard Dillas Forton. A gathering and celebration of Dave's life will be held at Almira Township Hall, on Maple Street in Lake Ann, on Thursday, May 19, 2011, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.Memorial donations can be made to the Veterans Memorial Almira Township Park or to Right to Life. Arrangements were made with the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
