Jonathan Timothy Deegan, known by friends and family as Tim, unexpectedly passed away December 5th, 2022 at the young age of 48.

He graduated from Suttons Bay Public Schools in 1993, received his BA in Geography in 1999 from Northern Michigan University and did some graduate work at Western Michigan University. However, it didn't take him long at all realize his true calling in life was helping others – especially the elderly, physically handicapped and developmentally disabled people of all ages.

Faith, family and friends were definitely what he valued most in life. His love of life and positive outlook were contagious. He always loved being around people, getting outside doing things such as skiing, disc golfing, geocaching and just plain hiking with his wife.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Jeanne Deegan and is survived by his wife, Heather, 3 brothers and 3 sisters and their spouses, Joe (Sue), Jack (Jenny), Josh (Jen), Gretchen (Jon), Katie (Dan), and Emily (TC the III). He is also survived by Heather's parents (Mare and Rudy) and her brother (Chad). He also enjoyed spending time with his 15 nieces and nephews, and loved to show them how to catch frogs and other critters. Catching little critters definitely was something he enjoyed so much.

Visitation is at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City, Monday, December 12, from 4pm-6pm, followed by rosary at 6pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday December 13, at St. Mary's of Lake Leelanau, where Tim and Heather were married, October 14th, 2006. Meet and greet starts at 10am and Mass begins at 11am. A luncheon will follow and then the procession to St. Wenceslaus in Suttons Bay will commence for graveside services.
