Joseph H. Chance III, 66 of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Munson Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Joe was born on June 27, 1946 in Detroit, MI to Mabelle (Beales) and Joseph H. Chance Jr.

Joe loved reading the newspaper, magazines as well as keeping track of the weather. He was also a lifelong Elvis Fan. When Joe was feeling good, he had a great sense of humor and laughed easily with friends and family. In addition to his family, Joe was fortunate to have many wonderful friends, family members and caregivers in his life; he will be missed by them all.

Surviving Joe is his mother Mabelle, brother Randolph Chance, sister Claudia (Warren Jones) Berry and many other loving family members, caregivers and friends.

Joe is preceded in death by his father Joseph H. Chance Jr.

Funeral services for Joe will take place at 11am on Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with a visitation held one hour prior. Burial will take place at Ogdensburg Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to a Charity of One's Choice.
