Traverse City - Joseph Rink, 92 life long resident of Grand Rapids and recently of Traverse City passed away at his home on March 31, 2012.
Joe was born on February 29, 1920 in Grand Rapids. He was born and raised in Grand Rapids and graduated from Ferris State University to become a pharmacist. He worked at Kay Drug Store for 40 years until he retired and then went around the state to help as a fill in pharmacist.
In his spare time Joe loved to trout fish and tied his own flies.
Joe honorably served our county as a member of the United States Army during WWII.
Joe is survived by his wife Dorothy, daughter Kandi (Charles) Hacker of Lake Leelanau, sister Mary Jean Miller of Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.
He will be fondly remembered and missed by many.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on May 19, 2012 at 2:00 pm with visitation one hour prior at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. 630 S. West Silver Lake Road, Traverse City, MI 49685.
Burial will take place at a later date at Resurrection Cemetery in Grand Rapids.
The family is being served by Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
