---- — ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. — Joseph "Joe" Wollam, 88, of Traverse City and a winter resident of Zephyrhills, Fla., died Monday afternoon, Nov. 22, at Florida Hospitals in Zephyrhills.Born April 25, 1922, in Traverse City he was the son of the late Harry and Josie (Jerrett) Wollam. On Aug. 9, 1986, in Traverse City, he married the former Marilyn M. Kroupa.A proud veteran, Joe served his country with the United States Army Air Force during World War II. He relished sharing his time and talents with others through his memberships with the Cherryland V.F.W. Post #2780. American Legion Garland Tompkins Post #399, Traverse City Masonic Lodge, F.A.M. #222, and the Moose Lodge #2276 in Zephyrhills.Joe retired in 1985 as owner and operator of Wollam's West Side 66 & Tire Service. As his hobbies, he enjoyed reading, watching sporting events and western movies, gardening and socializing with family members and friends.Joe is survived by his loving and caring wife, Marilyn M. Kroupa-Wollam, of Traverse City and Zephyrhills; children, Judith A. Decker, of Empire, Charles "Tom" (Kathy) Wollam, of Traverse City, Barbara Jo Wollam, of Traverse City; two grandchildren, Holly Decker and Toby Wollam; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Joe also was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie Lyon Wollam, who died in 1982; and his three brothers, Thoman, George and Harry Wollam.A memorial service celebrating Joe's life will be held in the spring, at which time an announcement will be made.In remembrance of Joe, memorials may be directed to the American Legion Garland Tompkins Post #399, P.O.
