Josephine was a native of Traverse City, born October 4, 1921 to Joseph T. & Mary A. Sleder (Svec). She attended Oak Park school and graduated from Central High School with the class of 1940. Jo was employed by Munson Medical Center in the admissions department for 25 years, retiring in 1985. She then worked as a receptionist for 2 attorneys for 15 years. She was a longtime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Jo married Francis (Hank) Hasse on May 24, 1947. Hank preceded her in death October 25, 1983. They had three children, Frances (Stoner), Raymond Hasse and Linda (Parr). Her son Raymond died in 2015 and her daughter Fran in 2016. Her sister Helen Nesky also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter Linda (Jim) Parr of St. Johns, Mi., daughter-in-law Delores Hasse of Traverse City, son-in-law Robert Stoner of Traverse City, 9 grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren.
Jo enjoyed cooking, gardening and sending cards and letters to friends and relatives. People always commented on her beautiful handwriting. Jo loved spending time with her friends and sharing stories of her life in Traverse City. She spent her last years at the French Manor assisted living facility on LaFranier in Traverse City.

Due to COVID restrictions there will be no visitation or services at this time. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Memorials can be made to Heartland Hospice and Munson Hospice House.
