TRAVERSE CITY — Joshua Arteaga, 34, of Traverse City and formerly of California, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. Joshua was born on Oct. 11, 1975, at home, to parents Robert Arteaga and Sheryle (Dexter) Gray in San Dimas, Calif. From a young age growing up in California, Josh was an outgoing spirit. He moved to Traverse City several years ago, along with his sister, Tiffany to start fresh. As a child, Josh was fun to be around and one to act silly or entertain others. Josh was a talented and passionate artist; when he wasn't found drawing, he was volunteering his time in the community.Josh was loved by so many and was a very giving person who will be missed tremendously by all. Joshua is survived by the joys of his life, his two precious daughters, Jazmine and Alexis; his parents, Robert (Barbara) Arteaga of Florida and Sheryle (Terence) Gray of California; his sister, Tiffany (Mark) Darrow of Clarkston; his brother, Robert (Tammy) Arteaga of Traverse City; brother, Jason Arteaga of Las Vegas, Nev.; sister, Hillary (Jason) Dutra of New Bedford, Mass.; as well as many other loving family members and friends.Joshua was preceded in death by his son, Joshua Joseph Arteaga Jr.Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. today, July 21, 2010, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to the service.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Joshua Joseph Arteaga Memorial Fund, c/o the Traverse City State Bank, as a trust fund for his young children.Please share thought's with the family at Josh's online guestbook at www.reynolds-jonkhoff.com .
