Joyce Ann Paxton

Joyce Ann Paxton, 80, of Traverse City, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 23, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family. Joyce was born August 7, 1934 in Swanton, Ohio to the late Willis and Mary (Vernes) Albright. She married Leonard D. Paxton, her husband of 49 years on April 22, 1957 in Tucson, AZ. He preceded her in death on April 9, 2006. Joyce and Leonard moved to Traverse City in 1974. Joyce had been employed as a customer service representative at the Grand Traverse Mall, she retired in 2008. Joyce was loved and respected by her fellow co-workers. She enjoyed reading, dinning out and traveling. Joyce had no greater love than time share with her family.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Mary (Kenneth) Brock of Mosinee, WI; two sons, Robert (Misty) Paxton of Sadieville, KY and Leonard (Angie) Paxton of Traverse City; three grandchildren, Mikala, Kira and Len; two great-grandchildren; Kaiden and Avalon. Also surviving are a sister, Barbara (Arnold) Ankerson and many other loving family members and friends.

A graveside service honoring Joyce will be held on at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Joyfield Township Cemetery, 5490 U.S. 31, Benzonia, MI 49616. Pastor Ted Smith will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with Joyce's family at the cemetery on Saturday from 12:30 p.m.
