TRAVERSE CITY — Juanita "Beth" Hooper, 87, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at Munson Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.Beth was born Aug. 21, 1924, in Chattanooga, Ohio, to the late Ross and Meda (Kuhn) Duff. She married the late Walter J. Hooper Jr. on March 14, 1946, in Buckley; he preceded her in death 27 years ago to the day.Beth was a dedicated mother. She was also a gifted pianist, organist and music teacher. She enjoyed gardening, entertaining and decorating. She was involved with Musicale and Music Patrons. Her dedication to church and to her God surpassed all. Beth touched many lives and was loved by people of all ages. Her beautiful smile, sense of humor, flair for fashion and classy personality will be remembered by all who knew her. Surviving Beth are her children, Walter J. (Marie) Hooper III, Candis G. (Thomas) Bensley, Jeremy K. Hooper, Kevin R. (Sue Acha) Hooper and Sheree D. (Wayne) Clewis; grandchildren, Heather (Scott) Jaworski, Bailey and Kelsey Bensley, and Nikki and Joel Clewis; great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Amelia, Preston, Oliver and Elijah Jaworski; sister, Crystal (Clark) Langford; sister-in-law, Virginia Duff; and many other loving nieces, nephews and cousins.Beth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother, Keith Duff; and daughter-in-law, Sue Hooper. Beth's visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at the Faith Reformed Church in Traverse City on Saturday, Feb. 11, with a visitation held one hour prior. Pastor Les Wiseman will serve as officiant. Burial will be held at a later date in Cornell Township Cemetery, Buckley. The Hooper family would like to thank Bortz Health Care for all their special care and loving attention for Beth.
