Judith Bracken

July 20, 2021 — July 20, 2021

Judith Edna Bracken, of Traverse City, passed away July 20, 2021 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions.

Judith was born to the late Lt. Col. Paul G. and Edna (Schroeder) Tossy in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI. She was one of two children. Her sister Nancy Hackett precedes her in death. Judith is survived by her children Lisa Chimner (Jeff), Paul Bracken (Annette), Ray Bracken (Liz), Pam Devlin (Jim), Denis Bracken, and Lynn Wehnes along with 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Prior to living in Traverse City, Judith also lived not only in her birth city of Grosse Pointe, but also Detroit, Battle Creek, Niles and Houston Texas. On February 6, 1970, she married the love of her life, her late husband Bruce Bracken. Together they raised a family and enjoyed many happy times together.

Her personality was infectious, her fishing skill was unbeatable and her love for a good glass of vino legendary. Judith was funny, flirty, and just enjoyed people. She had no barrier on her compassion for people and was drawn to those that were seemingly less fortunate. A smile or a salty joke from you and she was your friend.

The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the staff at Grand Traverse Pavilions for the compassion and care provided to Mom throughout her stay there and especially during the COVID-19 lockdown when we were unable to visit in person.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday October 2, 2021 at St. Michael's Church. Those wishing an expression of sympathy may choose to contribute to AC Paw ( www.acpaw.org ) in Judith's honor.

Judith and her family are being cared for by the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
