Judith "Judy" Donovan, 77, passed away peacefully at her home after several years of health issues on June 2, 2021. Her infectious laugh, which could be heard a mile away, will be forever remembered by anyone who knew her.
Judy was the second of 5 kids born to the late Arthur and Rose (Krosky) Donovan in Detroit, MI. After graduating from Henry Ford High School, Judy went on to Henry Ford School of Nursing where she graduated as a registered nurse in 1965, embarking on a long and fulfilling career in many aspects of nursing. She finally retired in 2009 and moved to the Traverse City, MI area to be near her grandchildren. Family was everything to her and she loved nothing more than being around the table with her immediate and extended family telling stories, laughing, and yelling over each other, just as she did growing up.
Judy is survived and will be dearly missed by her children: Matthew Burdick and Jennifer (Mark) Olson; "Judy-Mom" to Kimberly (Ronnie) Bunch, Jodi (Perry) Collier and Scott (Nancy) Burdick; "Grandma Judy" to Jacob, Isabel and Erika. She also leaves behind her brothers: Patrick (Janet) Donovan, Terry (Bonnie) Donovan, Michael (Sandra) Donovan, as well as many nieces and nephews who all have fond memories of "Aunt Judy".
She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Wendy (Donovan) Wellman.
A memorial will be planned in the near future at a time and place that works best for the entire extended family.
