Judith Ann Sowle

Judith (Judy) Sowle, 82, of Traverse City, formerly Mount Pleasant, passed away at home on June 15, 2021.
Judy was born to the late James and Kathryn Slattery in Marquette, MI on November 2, 1938.
In high school Judy met John Sowle, the love of her life. They spent over 60 joyous years together loving, laughing and sharing not only a deep appreciation for one another but also for their 4 children, extended family and friends.
Judy enjoyed reading, painting, making stone crafts, beaded jewelry and swimming at the civic center. In her free-time you could find her exploring the beaches of northern Michigan spending the day boating with her children or enjoying the warm sunshine while hunting for driftwood and rare stones.
Judy was kind, sincere, compassionate and caring and it showed in both her personal life as being an exceptional wife and adoring mother and grandmother, and in her professional life as a nurse where she touched the lives of countless patients and their families with her warmhearted and tender touch.
Judy is survived and missed dearly by her husband John (Jack); children Karen Roy (Kevin Foster), Patrick (Julie) Sowle of Mt. Pleasant and Kelli (Bob) Schmerheim of Boyne City; grandchildren Nikki Schafer of Weidman, Todd Schleder of Mt. Pleasant, Nicole Yuncker of Lansing and Savannah Roy of Phoenix, AZ and several great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents James and Kathryn Slattery and son Tim Sowle.
A memorial mass honoring her life will take place on June 23, 2021 at 11:00am at the Sacred Heart parish in Mount Pleasant with visitation from 10:00am to 11:00am.
Her final resting place will be The Calvary Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.
