TRAVERSE CITY - Judith Kay Vance passed away on Tuesday July 28, 2015 at 1:53 p.m. She was 72 years of age and is survived by her son, Kevin V. Morris, daughter, Lisa Morris Foley, grandchildren, Ryan, Samantha, Max, Harper, and Oscar, brothers, Ron (Bonnie) and Joe (Earlene) Vance, sister, Diane Nicholas, and companion, Mary Hammond.
Born in Saginaw, MI she spent the first half of her life as an educator in Mt. Pleasant, MI and the second half fighting for teacher rights with the MEA in Jonesville and Lansing, MI. Judy lived a vibrant and well-traveled life. She believed in and personified "living life to its fullest" and split her time between Traverse City, MI and Apache Junction, AZ. Never one to back down from a challenge, she continued to strive to learn new things, visit new places, and take on any new experiences whenever opportunity knocked on her door. Indeed, Judy lived her life and found the challenges to be where the fun is and persistently confronted life's dramas head on with dignity and grace. She will be missed as a spark in many people's lives and fondly remembered for her spirit of adventure and gumption to live every day to its fullest.
