Judy A. Kalar, age 69, long time resident of Traverse City, MI, died Friday, March 24, 2017 surrendering to her battle with leukemia. She was surrounded by her family and friends at her home in Traverse City.
Judy was born May 26, 1947 in Lapeer MI, to Alfred and Donna Kalar. She attended Lapeer High School in Lapeer Michigan. She continued her education at CMU where she earned her Bachelor's Degree, she then went on to achieve her master's degree at LSU.
She enjoyed reading, outdoors, gardening, photography and enjoyed her family and pets immensely. Judy was full of love, feelings, emotions and care that could not be expressed in words. She was not only a parent for her children but a friend, helper, guider and a well-wisher. She was the one who brought us up, gave us courage to face the world, confidence to achieve, taught us perseverance, moral ethics and to stand alone. When people talk about a pure love, without any conditions, they spoke of Judy. She will remain with us through eternity.
Judy was survived by her Husband, Raymond Haring, daughter, Mary Harris, son, Jim Harris, granddaughters; Grace Iverson, Allison Harris, grandson, Nicholas Harris and siblings, Bethany, Krystal and Becky, also several nieces and nephews to whom she adored; Jeanne, Julie, Jeff, Matthew, Michael, Raylene, Ryan and Riley.
In lieu of gifts or flowers, Judy's family has asked that donations be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38015.
