Judy Louise Oetting

Judy Louise Oetting, 68, of Traverse City passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 16, 2014 at her home.

Judy was born on Saturday, January 13, 1946 to the late Leo and Helen (Greilick) Higgins in Traverse City. She married Jon Howard Oetting on November 21, 1964 in Traverse City.

Employed by Pecar's Floral Shop and Greenhouse in Mancelona for many years, Judy also enjoyed gardening, loved her cats and loved to hunt as well as being an avid mushroom hunter. When she and Jon lived in Elkhart, IN, she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Elkhart Fire Dept, as Jon was a fireman. More than anything, she loved the time spent with her grandkids.

Judy is survived by her sons, Todd (Sherry) Oetting and Ty Oetting, all of Mancelona and her grandchildren, Kevin, Tyra, Jon, Jordan, Brendan and Breanna. She was preceded in death by her husband, and infant son, Kevin, her parents, brother, Pat Higgins and sisters, Betty Carmen and Bonny Jakee.

At Judy's request, cremation will take place and a family service will be held at a later date. Her cremated remains will be interred at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
