Julie A. Davis was born on August 30, 1961 in New London, CT, the daughter of Patrick and Marilyn (Green) Davis. She attended Traverse City schools and graduated from Traverse City Central High School in 1979.

Julie had worked at a number of places, such as Kmart, R.L. Polk and Holiday Inn West Bay before moving to San Francisco, CA, living there for a couple of years. She then returned to Traverse City where she's been with her family for the last 12 years.

Julie was the Executive Office Administrator for Strata Design for the last 10 years. She also volunteered her time at the Cherryland Humane Society and had been a proud member of the IAAP for the last two years. It was through this group that Julie had grown and blossomed and forged many treasured friendships. Julie and her son Patrick, loved to go on spontaneous road trips, visit the kitties at the Humane Society, dine out, listen to music, read and spend time with her mother, Marilyn.

Julie is survived by her son Patrick Davis-Mercado, who attends Central High School; her mother, Marilyn of Traverse City, two sisters, Susan Davis of Orlando, FL and Amy Davis of Traverse City as well as her brother, James Davis of San Francisco. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.

A casual memorial to celebrate her life will be held Friday, June 1, 2012 from 4 pm until 7 p.m. at Holiday Inn West Bay. Please come to share your stories about Julie with her family and please bring photos and other memorabilia you would like to share.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Julie Davis Memorial Fund c/o Traverse City State Bank, which will be held in trust for her son.
