June Florence (Stromberg) Brammer passed away in Traverse City on May 23rd after a brief illness. June was born July 8, 1931 in Highland Park, MI to Blanche Violet Peterson of Marinette, WI and David Einar Stromberg of Malmberget, Sweden. June and her parents moved to Traverse City during her high school years where her father and his partner started Stromberg Carlson, which is still a family business in Traverse City today. She married Robert "Bob" Brammer in October 17, 1953. Bob and June have five children and they along with their spouses and 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grand child were the celebration of her life: Ruth Johnson and her husband Kris Sabel of Avon, CO, David "Dave" and his wife Angie of Malibar, FL, Mark of Buffalo, NY, Robert "Bob" Jr. and his wife Jan and Charles "Charlie" and his wife Jen all of Traverse City. June cherished her grandchildren: Katie, Kelly, Kristen, Anna, Brian, Hanna, Gunnar, Kaleigh, Emmalynn, and Owen and great grand-child Emma. Her cousin Jan DeWildt was her lifelong dearest friend.
June's devotion and passion was her family. June had a love for Broadway musicals, classic movies, sports and especially football and tennis, opera, all things Swedish, and the birds that frequented her yard. For much of her life, June enjoyed traveling, taking trips to Sweden to see her extended family there, around the country to spend time with her children and grandchildren, and to see various sporting events and Broadway shows.
Visitation for family and friends will take place Wednesday, May 29th from 6-9 PM at Reynolds Jonkoff Funeral Home. The memorial service will take place at 1:30 PM Thursday, May 30th, with visitation beginning at 1 PM also at the funeral home.
