June C. Dumbrille

June Christine Dumbrille died Sunday, July 24th, 2022 at her home in Traverse City, Michigan. June was born on October 23d, 1932 to Vernie and Rose Richie. She graduated from Traverse City High School in 1952. As a member of the second class ever to graduate from Northwestern Michigan College, she received her Associate of Arts degree in 1954. That same year she married Merlin Dumbrille of Traverse City where they made their home. She returned to NMC and earned an LPN degree in nursing, beginning her career in nursing at Munson Medical Center in 1976. She earned her RN degree in 1978, moving from Munson to the Grand Traverse Medical Care Facility in the early 80s, eventually retiring from service there as a floor nursing supervisor in July 1997. She was a member of the Eastern Star Auxiliary of Grand Traverse Lodge #222 F&AM. She was also an active member of the Eckankar Sat Sang Society of Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernie and Rose Richie, sister Rose Laukhart, husband Merlin Dumbrille and brothers in law James Laukhart, Glenn Yetter and Erwin Dumbrille. She is survived by her children, Penny (Bob) Derse of Dallas, TX, Dean (Lynne)Dumbrille of Fenton, MI, and Dale Dumbrille of Traverse City, MI as well as sister in law Patricia Yetter.
