TRAVERSE CITY – June Marie Kobbins, age 92, of Traverse City, passed away Friday, July 21, 2017 at the Traverse Victorian Senior Living Facility in the loving care of her family.
June was born to Thomas and Lucy (Bradford) Montague on September 27, 1924 in Traverse City, MI.
June lived in the Traverse City area her entire life. She worked as an administrative assistant at the prosecutor's office until her eventual retirement.
Throughout the years June had many hobbies and interests. June enjoyed horseracing, where her favorite rider was Jerry Bailey. She also had a love for Nascar, where she enjoyed watching car number 48, Jimmy Johnson. She had many hobbies, some of which include watching the Detroit Lions, loved a good martini, she made beautiful cakes, and loved to bowl, and golf.
June is survived by her daughter, Christine Derks, son, Kevin (Cindy) Kobbins, son Jerry (Carol) Stremlow, and 5 grandchildren, and 4 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl T. Kobbins, and daughter, Sherry Stremlow.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, July 31, 2017 at Central United Methodist Church in the chapel, with Pastor Dale Ostema officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am at the church. Graveside services will take place immediately following the service, where there will be a procession to Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
