Traverse City-Justine Marie Mathews, born to Edward and Rose Shaffran on June 15, 1940, died September 27, 2013.
A 1958 graduate of St. Francis High School, she was a certified cosmetologist employed by The Park Place Beauty Salon for many years.
Married to Robert Mathews, who predeceased her, the couple had two sons, R.J. (Jennifer) and Michael; grandchildren Casha, Devon, Cameron, Lexie, Noah and her very special great-grandson Bryson. She is also survived by brothers Cles (Kay) Shaffran and Charles (Bertha) Shaffran, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Justine loved music, especially Elvis, dancing, playing cards, and loved participating in the many area events such as the Cherry Festival and Friday Night Live. She was dedicated to the enrichment of the lives and experiences of her grandchildren and great-grandson.
She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Friday, October 4, 2013, at 11:00A.M., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Anthony Citro will preside.
Cremation has taken place. At a later date her cremated remains will be buried at Oakwood Catholic Diocesan Cemetery,.
Memorials may be directed to the charity of one's choice.
