Traverse City – Kandee Lynn Sheffer, 58, of Traverse City, passed away on September 14, 2015 at her home.

Kandee was born on September 24, 1956 in Traverse City to the late Buddy and Jean (Gauthier) Sheffer.

Kandee will be remembered for her wonderful laugh and great sense of humor. Her family was very important to her and she looked forward to family gatherings – always there to lend a hand and make sure that everyone was taken care of. Kandee's two favorite things were yard sales and playing poker and other card games with family and friends. She loved her dog, Keno, and her bird, Chaco and would go to great lengths to help stray or abandoned animals.

She was a hard worker and took pride in her work. Kandee cherished the special friendships she had made over the years with her co-workers. She considered them part of her family.

Kandee is survived by her brothers Gary (Val) Sheffer, Mike Sheffer, Rick (Jenny) Sheffer; and sisters, Barbara Jean McCaffrey and Gloria Schroeder. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held for Kandee on Thursday, September 24, 2015, at 6 pm with visitation starting at 5 pm, at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 6th Street, Traverse City, MI. Tim Moeggenberg will officiate the service.
