Karon June Anderson lost her brave battle with cancer on Oct. 26, 2019.
She was born in Traverse City, Michigan to the late Mahlon and Ivah Blakeslee. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James B. Anderson; sister, Marsha Stites; brother, Whitney Blakeslee.
Karon was employed by RL Polk in Traverse City and later started working in the Register of Deeds office for Grand Traverse County. In 1980, she was elected as Register of Deeds and retired in 2000 with 31 years of service.
She is survived by her sons, Robert (Susan) Grody of Pompano Beach, FL, Joe (Michelle) Anderson of Traverse City, MI; daughter, Sheila Anderson of Traverse City, MI; grand-daughter, Summer Anderson of Traverse City, MI.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019 at Reynolds/Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 305 6th Street, Traverse City. Burial will follow at Circle Hill Cemetery, Williamsburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Silver Muzzle Cottage Rescue and Hospice for Senior Dogs, 3785 Rice Road NW, Rapid City, Michigan 49676. (231)264-8408
