Kate Chandler, 95, of Traverse City passed away peacefully at Samaritas on November 9, 2023.
Kate was born on February 10, 1928 in Virginia to the late Humphrey K. Bertha (Jones) Spencer.
Kate lived a beautiful life with her best friend, Guy Chandler in Cascade, Michigan. They celebrated 73 years of marriage before he passed in 2020.
Kate and Guy were active members of Cascade Christian Church for many decades until relocating to Traverse City, MI to be closer to their daughter and son in law in 2016.
Kate enjoyed reading, birds, travel and appreciating art and keeping in touch with her friends and family.
Kate was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister in laws and her granddaughter, Kyla Chandler.
Kate is survived by her two children, Craig (Donna) and Jill (Michael) Mumford as well as her beloved granddaughter, Emily.
A funeral Service will take place at Cascade Christian Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan on December 6, 2023 at 11:00am in the Chapel. Kate will be laid to rest at Cascade Cemetery in a private family service.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Michigan and the staff at Samaritas for their care and support.
Memorial contributions in her honor may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
