Kathleen Ann Hofmeister, 79, of Traverse City passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025 at her home with her family by her side.
Kathleen was born on July 31, 1945 in Cass City to the late William Frederick and Rosella Elizabeth (Powell) Kretzschmer.
Kathleen grew up in Owendale and graduated from High School in 1963. She later went on to Michigan State University and made many fond memories.
In her senior year at Owendale she met her soulmate, Ronald "Hoffy" Hofmeister. In November 1966, after he returned from his tour of duty in Viet Nam and they planned their wedding. They were married on June 17, 1967, in Bay City. They later moved to Traverse City with their son Brandon in the early 70's.
Kathleen was devoted to her community. She was a proud ambassador for the Cherry Festival for over 50 years and served as their president in 2008. She also was a member of the Red Hat Society. Kathleen was also a certified wellness practitioner for the last twenty years and she helped countless people with homeopathic care.
Kathleens faith was also very important to her and she enjoyed leading bible study and prayer groups. She and Ron were also devoted members of Kensington Church for over 20 years. Although we will forever mourn her parting, we are consoled by the promises of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Ron's parents, brother William Kretzschmer, sister Maureen Hill and brother-in-law Gary Hofmeister.
Kathleen is survived by her beloved husband Ron; their son Brandon; and her sisters Marilyn Kowbel, Linda Garthe and Janice Crockett.
The funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 11 am at Kensington Church with visitation beginning one hour prior.
Memorial contributions in her honor may be directed to the National Cherry Festival Foundation or to Kensington Church.
