Kathleen Louise (McGinley) St. Pierre, 75 of Traverse City, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 5, 2013 at Munson Medical Center with her loving husband at her side.

Kay was born on October 30, 1937 in Lansing, MI to the late Charles and Mathilda (Schenk) McGinley. In her 7th grade year in Lansing, the family moved to Traverse City. She attended and graduated from St. Francis High School with the class of 1955. Following graduation she moved back to Lansing to attend St. Lawrence School of Nursing.

On October 5, 1963 she married the love of her life Bernard St. Pierre at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lansing. Together they lovingly raised two wonderful children.

Kay was an avid reader and a talented poet. However, her true love of people and nature was what kept her most happy. She had a magnetic personality and never met a stranger. People gravitated towards her positive energy and always felt confident in asking for advice or counseling. Kay will be fondly remembered as the second mom to many. People of all ages loved to be in her presence. She truly enjoyed life and all of God's beautiful creatures to the fullest. Her sincere smile and genuine personality will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Surviving Kay is her husband Bernie of almost 50 years, children, Paul (Jeff Zetty) St. Pierre, Eileen (Jason) Ashford, grandsons, Ben and Braden Fairbee, sister Suzanne (Norton) Gassman and many other loving family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 11am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Denay Hall with a visitation held one hour prior. The Rev. Monsignor Edwin A. Thome will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Father Fred Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
