Kathleen Marie Scheck, 71, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully at home on October 4, 2024, with her loving son by her side. She was born on March 17, 1953, in Traverse City, Michigan, to the late Norman Anderson and Betty Brown.
Kathleen met George Raymond Scheck during their high school years, and they were married on April 24, 1971, in Traverse City. Together, they pursued their GEDs and further education later in life, always striving to get ahead.
The couple built a unique business creating uniforms for historical reenactments in Grand Rapids, traveling as a growing family to various shows across the country to sell their handcrafted merchandise. They especially loved attending the New Jersey reenactment held on an actual battlefield, a cherished event they often shared with their family. They still even have the large custom tents in the garage.
In addition to her business, Kathleen worked for a factory in Traverse City and later at Target, where she continued working until July 2024, when her health no longer allowed it. A dedicated worker, Kathleen found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved watching hummingbirds, feeding the birds and squirrels, and indulging in a bit of fun at the casino or playing slot machine games on her computer.
Above all, Kathleen loved her family deeply. She will be remembered for her strong work ethic, caring nature, and devotion to her children and loved ones.
She is survived by her husband George, her children Betee (Cory) Drake, Amanda (Jason) McNeal, Nicole (Jeremiah Boling) Scheck, Lauren (John Hubinger) Scheck, Cody Scheck, grandchildren; Nicholas, Evan, Cheyla, Alexis, Adrianna, Lilly, Greyson, Conor, Godparents Nancy (Thomas) Brown, and many other loving family members and friends.
Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved granddaughter Elizabeth.
