Kathryn B. "Katie" Bohn, 96 of Traverse City, Mi passed away Saturday, February 06, 2016 at Munson Medical Center.
Katie was born on Monday, April 28, 1919 to the late Joseph and Bertha (Maxbauer) Babel in Traverse City, MI.
Katie married the love of her life, Arnold "Arnie" G Bohn on Friday, January 31,1941 in Traverse City, Michigan at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and enjoyed 68 years together.
Katie a devoted mother and homemaker was a member of the Elks Club Daisy Chain and the TC Golf and Country Club. She was also a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
While raising their children, Arnie and Katie created and operated their family business Bohn's Resort - Cottages on East Bay.
Katie had a real passion for the game of golf for which she was well accomplished. She retired her golf clubs at the young age of 80. Her other hobbies included reading, gardening and listening to country music. She loved playing cards, especially Bridge and also War with the grandchildren.
For many years, Katie and Arnie would travel to Florida during the winter season to enjoy the warmer climate.
Katie is survived by her two sons; Richard (Marilyn) Bohn of Traverse City, Kenneth Bohn of Traverse City, daughter; Barbara (Daniel) Kipley of Traverse City, grandchildren; Greg (Christine) Bohn, Christopher (Kim) Bohn, Kyra ( Kevin) Summers, Dan Kipley Jr. and Katie (John) Worrell. 15 great grandchildren, Ashley Bohn, Joe and Joshua Wisniewski, Kayla Polk and Madelyn Polk - Summers, Tyler, Alexandra, Sydney Bohn, Christopher, Nicholas, Johnathon and Kaylee Worrell, Lindsey, Stephen and Danielle Summers, and many other loving family members and friends.
Katie was preceded in death by her husband Arnie, son Gerald Lee Bohn, both her parents and Brothers Russell Babel and Robert Babel, both of Traverse City.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11am on Thursday February 11, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Hayden officiating. Visitation will be held from 10am until 11am at the church. Grave-side committal services will be held in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens to follow. Memorial contributions may be directed to Mass Intentions at Immaculate Conception Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
