Kathryn I. "Kay" Tuttle, 90, of Traverse City died September 17 at Munson Hospice House.
Kay was born Kathryn Imogene Pickett in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and graduated from Shawnee High School. She moved to Ord, Nebraska, and then Los Angeles where she married Dean Blessing who later died while in the service.
She moved to Traverse City in 1946 and married Norman Tuttle.
Kay was an avid gardener, seamstress and knitter and homemaker. She was an active bowler and received recognition for high games and series. She also loved singing and was active in Sweet Adelines.
Kay and Norman enjoyed travelling in their later years and visited 48 of the 50 states and several foreign countries including Australia and New Zealand.
Kathryn was predeceased by her sister Zina, brother Cassius, her husband Norman in 2007 and grandson Andrew Tuttle in March, 2012. She is survived by her daughter Nicole Payne (Daniel) of Boston, her son Stephen Tuttle (Mary) of Traverse City, her grandsons Adam Payne of Boston and Jeremy Payne of Augusta, Maine, and three great granddaughters.
A private reception will be held in her honor at a later date.
