TRAVERSE CITY – Kathryn "Kate" Paige Waterston, 41, of Traverse City. Heaven received a True Angel on April 27, 2016 with Kathryn's sudden passing. She had lived in Traverse City for the past fifteen years under the loving supervision of the Brickways system.
A graduate of Shaker High School in Albany, New York, and of the Traverse Bay Area Career Center, Kate was a gold medal winning Special Olympics skier and swimmer and a wiz at Word Search. She also attended Grosse Pointe North High School where she was elected to the National Honor Society. She was employed at Grand Traverse Industries.
Facing a lifelong challenge of disabilities she was always cheerful and loving and has left many wonderful memories. She will live on in our hearts and through those memories in the lives of every person she touched.
Kate is survived by her parents Donna and Jim Waterston of Petoskey and brothers Jim of Cheboygan and Wes of Winnetka, IL, as well as nephews Patrick, Blake and Justus, and nieces Avery, Maeve, Whitney and Jasmine. She also leaves behind many friends at Brickways and Grand Traverse Industries.
A memorial service will be held for family and friends on Monday, May 2, at 11a.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Brickways Foundation, 935 Barlow Street, Traverse City, MI 49686.
