Kathy Nan Roster, 82, of Traverse City, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at French Manor Terra. Kathy was born on January 24, 1943, in Moline, Illinois, to the late Owen and Beulah (Davis) Sellers. Kathy's family soon moved to South Bend, Indiana, where she attended school through her sophomore year. They later moved to Arlington Heights, Illinois. After graduating high school, she enrolled in business classes and was later employed with Kemper Insurance Company, as a key punch operator. During her time at Kemper, Kathy met the love of her life, Gerald J. Roster, through mutual friends while he was station with the U.S. Army in Arlington Heights. Kathy and Jerry dated for two years, and after his discharge they were married on May 8, 1965. They remained in Arlington Heights for the next seven years. Where they began their family with the birth of their two sons, Eric in 1965 and Nicholas, in 1967.

Kathy and Jerry later moved to Traverse City in 1971. They started a new adventure in 1975 by owning and operating the Midas shop in Traverse City, this continued for the next 35 years.

Kathy was a member of Quota Club, Newcomers, Crochet Club, and an active member and volunteer at The Presbyterian Church. She liked to read, garden, and go out to lunch with friends. She always enjoyed being sociable.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Jerry, their two sons: Eric Roster and Nicholas (Jamie) Roster and four grandsons, Hudson, Bentley, Nash and Cooper. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Sharon Holtz.

A Memorial Service honoring Kathy will take place at a later date.
