Kay Jean Deadman, 65, of Traverse City passed away Monday, December 13, 2021.
Kay was born on October 2, 1956, in Traverse City to the late Stanley and Elizabeth (Goble) Deadman. Kay lived in Traverse City her entire life and loved her hometown dearly.
Kay worked various jobs throughout her life including at Burwoods and on Mackinaw Island (seasonally). She worked for several years at the Front Street Big Boy, right in the heart of Traverse City. The job Kay enjoyed the most was working with other adults with disabilities. She assisted and supported people with more severe disabilities than her own on job sites. She also worked with individuals within the community; helping people navigate the bus route around the city as well as other activities that she herself did independently.
In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She loved to laugh, joke and tease. Painting by numbers and putting puzzles together with her friends at the Pavilions were high on her list of activities that she loved to do.
Surviving Kay is her daughter Vicki (Nate) Felton, her brothers Bill Deadman and Charlie Deadman, nephew Chris (Billie) Deadman, niece Courtney Deadman, great niece Sydney Deadman and great nephew Carson Deadman. She was preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Elizabeth Deadman as well as her sister-in-law Margie Deadman.
A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home with a visitation beginning at 10am. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Grand Traverse Pavilions.
