Keith Barsheff, 75, of Traverse City, long time shoreline resident of Silver Lake, passed away Saturday May 13, 2023 at Munson Medical Center with his family by his side.
Keith was born April 28, 1948 to the late Edward and Eileen (Tegge) Barsheff in Detroit, MI. Keith, the middle child, of three boys.
A family man to the core, he loved everything to do with his kids, grandkids, and grand dogs. The pups always knew papa had treats for them, every time they saw him. He did all of these things of course with his beloved bride Sandi by his side.
Keith graduated from Denby High School in Detroit, and received an associate's degree from McComb Community College and pursued a career in mechanical engineering. In 1973 he packed up everything he owned with his family in tow and headed north to continue his career in a smaller quainter town to raise his family in Traverse City.
He loved the sun, water, and boating on Silver Lake, also deer hunting on Drummond Island with the "guys." Keith enjoyed being a snowbird for the winter months in Florida, traveling with Sandi making memories along the way, while listening to The Beach Boys or any 60's music for that matter. Keith was the true definition of a bargain shopper and would excitedly add something to his collection… (or his many collections). If you needed something he probably had it with extras to spare. He loved family time especially with his grandkids that he loved to brag about to anyone that would listen. Riding in his grandson's '79 Bronco always put a smile on his face as much as watching his granddaughter play soccer in high school.
Keith leaves behind to miss him dearly and sort his collections; daughter Karin (Shawn) Boyd, son Brian (Dori) Barsheff, grandson Cameron Boyd and granddaughter Taylor (Ben) Wyatt. He also leaves behind his younger brother Kyle Barsheff to continue carrying on the family name and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his beautiful bride and best friend Sandi (Oct. 2022), his parents and his older brother Gary.
Visitation will take place on Monday May 22, 2023 from 6-8pm at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home. A second visitation will take place on Tuesday May 23, 2023 from 10-11am with a service beginning at 11:00am also at the funeral home.
