TRAVERSE CITY — Kenneth Allen Aprill, 52, of Traverse City, passed away unexpectedly as a result of a heart attack Friday, Nov. 5, 2010.Ken was born on April 25, 1958. He was raised in the Traverse City area, graduating from Traverse City Senior High School. He worked for several of the local excavating companies. Ken loved Northern Michigan. He enjoyed the area beaches and took in the beauty of the outdoors on every opportunity. He was a talented cook and gardener, and shared his creations with anyone who was hungry or needed tomatoes! Ken cared for many friends and neighbors by doing yard maintenance and snow removal.Ken is survived by his children, David Aprill and Kendra (Bruce) Gordon; his parents, Clarice and Bill Hoxie; siblings, Bonnie (Paul) Kalkwarf, Barb (Vic) Johnson, Brian (Mary) Hoxie, Dale (Keyla) Aprill, Sherry (Steve) Purkiss and Jeff (Sandy) Aprill; and many other loving family members and friends. Memorial services will take place at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Devon Herrell will officiate.
