Kenneth R Taylor passed away October 19th, 2021 at Munson Hospice House surrounded by his loving family.
He was born September 6, 1939 to the late Raymond and Grace (Schoch) Taylor in Michigan City, Indiana.
After attending Michigan State University, Ken began his career with the Michigan State Police. Ken was Drafted and served as a police officer for the United States Army. Ken then returned to the Michigan State Police as a State Trooper, working several roles for the state and ultimately retiring as a Captain and Commanding Officer. In addition, Ken also graduated from the FBI National Academy.
Ken married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Margery (Vollman) on July 20th, 1963 in Three Oaks, Michigan. Ken and Margery were happily married for 58 years and raised their children in Okemos, MI.
Ken has enjoyed living in the Traverse City area since 1994. In retirement, Ken enjoyed working in his yard and caring for the vineyard that surrounded their home on old mission peninsula. He also dedicated time to the State Police Troopers Association and the State Police Command Officers Association.
Ken is survived by his wife Margery, daughter Jennifer (Lee) Ghesquiere, son Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Taylor, sisters; Bobbie (Tim) Ruhl, and Cindy Graziano, and Grandchildren; Taylor, Chase, Lilly, Gavin, Brett, and Alex.
Besides parents, Ken was preceded in death by his sister Micki (Jerry) Miller.
