Kenneth E. Timm, 85, of Traverse City passed away Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Country Pleasures Assisted Living.
Kenneth was born on July 17, 1927 to the late John and Genevieve (Tapkin) Timm in Flint. He served his country proudly and honorably as a member of the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict.
On June 20, 1953, Kenneth entered into marriage with the former Margaret M. Hunt in Traverse City. Ken and Margaret made their home in Traverse City as he went to work as an accountant, preparing income taxes for many years and assisting in professional management. Then Ken took on driving bus and continued to do so over 17 years for the Traverse City Public Schools. He was a member of the VFW Post #2780 and the Elk Rapids Sportsman's Club. Ken could often be found enjoying time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.
Kenneth is survived by his two sons, John (Eileen Mitchell) Timm of Traverse City and David Timm of Rochester Hills, two grandchildren, Jonathan and Stephanie Timm, one sister, Mary (Allan) Vigna, Ken's dearest companion, his cocker spaniel "Freckles" and many other loving family members and friends.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret in 2008, his parents and one sister, Marjorie Deyarmond.
Military Honors will take place graveside at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Oakwood Cemetery provided by VFW Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be directed to The Cherryland Humane Society.
