---- — TRAVERSE CITY --- Kenneth Ulric Tondreau, 40, of Interlochen passed away Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, at Munson after a long fight with cancer.Ken was born on April 12, 1971, son of Kenneth R. and Carol Tondreau, of Maple City.He graduated for Glen Lake in 1989 and joined the Army; he was honorably discharged in 1996 after serving in Korea, Haiti, Oklahoma and Hawaii.Ken enjoyed being a telecommunications technician at Munson where his sense of humor and warm smile will be greatly missed by all of his of his friends and coworkers. Ken cherished time with his family — being dad to Brandon and Janae, devoted to his fiancée and love of his life Sheila, their four-legged "son" Jakey and the loving noisy family Sunday dinners at his parents.He also enjoyed many hobbies including scuba diving, golf, volleyball, roller coasters and NASCAR. He was an excellent marksman and loved showing off to everyone at the families Annual Pumpkin Shoot. Ken enjoyed having a blast on the 4th of July with family. His awe-inspiring pyrotechnic display will be missed.Ken is survived by his devoted fiancée Sheila Lakies; his loving parents Ken and Carol Tondreau; children Brandon and Janae Tondreau of Virginia; siblings Keith (Venus) Tondreau, Denise (John) Bobier-Schoelles, Kurt (Carol) Tondreau, and Elizabeth (Don) Ryner, Tom and Sherry Lakies, Jeff and Jen Lakies; many nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends. Visitation will be held today, Nov. 16, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home. Funeral services with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17, also at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of Ken may be directed to the American Cancer Society or to his Children's Educational Trust.Please share thoughts with the family at Ken's online guestbook at
