AUBURN HILLS — Kent Joseph Sweet, 59, passed away unexpectedly on April 12, 2012. Kent was born in Rochester on April 18, 1952. He moved with his family to Traverse City in 1966 where he attended Traverse City High School and Northwestern Michigan College. Kent was employed by Century, Inc. as a Maintenance Technician for over 20 years. He enjoyed the northern Michigan outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He spent available free time driving to wooded areas to take in the scenery, animal life and nature's foods. Kent was a member of the East Bay Masonic Lodge #264. He was a kind soul, always there for his parents and siblings in times of need or failing health. Kent was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Myrtle; his brother, Dale; nephew, Mark; and brother-in-law, Thomas Thomas. Kent is survived by his sisters, Sharon (Bob) Bilodeau, of Arizona, Karen, of Traverse City, Penny Mace, of Arizona, and Dawn Thomas, of Traverse City; and brother, Ed, of Costa Rica; along with 17 nieces and nephews.
